Laura Marquez is the Vice President and Chief Application Officer at Sharp HealthCare, providing executive leadership for the organization’s enterprise application portfolio. She is responsible for aligning application strategy with clinical, operational, and financial priorities, guiding major platforms from implementation through optimization to support care delivery, business performance, and long term growth. Prior to joining Sharp, Laura served as Senior Director of Digital Transformation at University of Utah Health and previously as Chief Application Officer at UConn Health, leading large scale application and digital initiatives across complex health systems. With 25 years of healthcare experience, she is known for building high performing teams, driving meaningful transformation, and leading with empathy while delivering measurable results. A TEDx speaker, Laura is recognized as a servant leader with a strong focus on customer and patient experience. She holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Washington and a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Western Washington University. Laura is a Certified Healthcare CIO through CHIME, serves on the CHIME Applications and Analytics Leadership Council, is an active member of HIMSS, and has completed an executive leadership development program with the American College of Healthcare Executives. Outside of work, she is a busy mother of three, a soccer coach, an outdoor enthusiast, and famously snowboarded at her own wedding, dress and all.
