Stephen was hired by Northeast Valley Health Corporation in 2003 in the newly created position of Director of Information Technology and was promoted to Chief Information Officer in 2012. His main focus was in managing the growth and integration of technology across all sections of the corporation and developing a strategic guideline to follow for future expansion. The Information Technology department he leads consists of 15 staff and supports both hardware and software applications including network and telecommunications systems. NEVHC operates 12 Primary Care Health Centers with 5 Dental Offices and 6 Specialty Health Centers consisting of 3 School Based Clinics, 2 Homeless Health Centers, a HIV health center, all located in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys.

In the 21 years Stephen has been at NEVHC, his department has been instrumental in implementing many electronic systems including Nextgen EPM/EHR, Pre-visit Patient Engagement System, Dentrix Dental EHR, a QS/1 Pharmacy System with an Interactive Voice Response system for 24hour prescription refills, i2i Tracks Population Management System, an automated reporting system, automated outreach through text and voice communication and recently migrated the company to a hosted telephone system. Interoperability has been an on-going focus with Radiology vendors and Health Information Exchange networks. Stephen regularly attends the CCALAC HIT and Nextgen User Group meetings and is an active member of the CPCA forums.

Prior to joining NEVHC, Stephen worked for Fountain View, Inc., a 50 site, multi-state skilled nursing facility and Orthopaedic Hospital in downtown Los Angeles. His education includes a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Management from Cal State Fullerton.

An avid sports fan, Stephen looks forward to getting away from the keyboard to spend time at sporting events or on vacation with his wife and daughter.
