Anshul Dixit is the Medical Director at Health Net of California, a Medi-Cal managed care plan serving over 3 million lives across California. A Board-Certified internist trained in two continents, he has over 30-years of experience. His responsibilities include setting clinical strategy and oversight of healthcare delivery for Medi-Cal, dual and Medicare members. He serves provider groups in the Central Valley, Sacramento, Imperial, and LA Counties. His role is a bridge between the health plan and the local provider community. In his role, Dr Dixit oversees key programs like quality improvement, utilization management and population health – ensuring members get the right care at the right place at the right time. This might mean helping reduce unnecessary ED visits, making BH services available alongside physical health services (BH integration), or implementing new State initiatives like CalAIM.

One of the favorite parts of his job is partnering with local organizations to close disparities in care. For example, improving the health of moms and newborns in underserved areas and improving prevention and checkups for communities with high burden of chronic disease. He loves playing a part in reshaping how care is delivered to California’s most vulnerable populations.

He holds an MD from the Institute of Medical Sciences, India and masters degrees in public health, business and management from the University of Iowa. He resides in Sacramento with his wife.
