Sonia E. Arista has over 25 years as an Information Security, Risk Management and Technology specialist. Initially, as a management consultant with Dell Services and Perot Systems she has worked internationally in the financial, healthcare, telecommunications and manufacturing verticals. She has also served as a senior information technology director executing digital transformation of core business operations, as well as held a position as a subject-matter-expert CISO defining the enterprise healthcare go-to-market strategy and sales for US and Canada for Fortinet, an S&P 500 organization, inclusive of defining and serving as the Chairman of their Global Healthcare Advisory Board.
Sonia has held executive leadership positions as an operational Chief Information Security Officer for Tufts Medical Center, New England Quality Care Alliance, Everbridge and Signify Health / CVS. She has been contracted to serve as an interim Chief Information Security Officer and Executive Board advisor for several public company technology and provider entities like Wellforce, Nuance Communications and Verscend Technologies, looking for program validation, incident response support, and board-level executive education on cybersecurity technologies and programs.
A published author, Sonia has been invited to speak at a number of healthcare information technology and cyber security events and has committee memberships with many nationally recognized healthcare information technology security organizations like CHIME, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, and HIMSS, the Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society. She also contributes mentorship and engagement with women in STEM and Hispanic and Minority technology organizations.
Sonia earned a BBA in Management Information Systems and a BA in Latin American Studies from Southern Methodist University and a Masters of Science in Cybersecurity at Brown University. She maintains certifications in Certified Information Security Management (CISM) and as a HITRUST Alliance Certified CSF Practitioner (CCSFP).
